Thanksgiving day is the third Thursday of November and on this day families join together in order to thank God and eat tradition food like turkey and cranberry sauce. This is a tradition from the day where the Indians helped the Pilgrims not to starve.</div><br /><div>It was my first Thanksgiving and I was with my brother at my friend's grandmother's house. We spent a very good time together and also ate for a whole week! Halloween is known in France but it is not celebrated like here at all! In North America, it seems to be a huge event where everybody is dressed up and partied all day! I learnt more about the trick-or-treat which is the visit of children to your house to ask for candies... Anyway, my experience was the ESL party where we really had fun, all dressing up in class and playing games! A French city in Louisiana... but so different from France! Well, i must admit that there was an French influence a long time ago and that is why the streets have French name and the buildings and houses have an old French architecture but that is all! Craziness and lewdness are everywhere! People were dressed up all day long like during Mardi Gras and all the stores sold vodoo stuffs... Amazing! I felt like in an old movie in France!
